Vintage French Painted Black, White & Red Road Crossing Metal Sign

This is a great piece of history in great condition though with a few knocks, scrapes and bumps as to be expected from a working item, the red paint around the outer rim is also faded in some places - please see the photos for more details.

There is some debate as to which way the sign should be hung... the inner support / workings indicate that the sign should point downwards, but just about all images we've found of similar signs show the sign with the point heading upwards; you decide which you prefer!

The sign is in great condition and has been gently cleaned and buffed.
It measures;

 - length along each side 63cm
 - depth 3cm
