Vintage Four-Part Barristers Bookcase, with Fall Front Bureau, Gunn Furniture

This is an incredibly rare four-part modular barristers bookcase with fall front lockable bureau.

The piece is in fabulous condition and has been gently cleaned, oiled and waxed - and it is ready to take pride of place once more. 

Gunn Furniture was a part of the Grand Rapids Furniture Association. Established in 1931 numerous furniture manufactures from the town of Grand Rapids in the Michigan area came together and were authorised to use a specific logo as a mark of quality. From 1870s through to the 1930s Grand Rapids was the centre of the furniture industry - though nowadays it is more well known for it office furniture. This piece no longer has the Grand Rapids logo, but does have the Gunn name embossed on various panels.

This barristers bookcase with fall front bureau comprises two lower slide up and over glass fronted sections - the lower section is slightly taller - these two sections are modular and slot together - original flat pack furniture if you like. 

The top two parts both separate complete units - the bureau part is in excellent condition with six drawers - please note the inside of one of the drawers has some red pen ink inside - there is also a scratch on one side - please see the photos for more details and don't hesitate to ask if you need further information. The top section which is slightly narrower in depth has two glazed doors and a fixed shelf.

Top section - top shelf height 19cm, bottom shelf height 20cm, depth of shelves 15.5cm approx

Bureau section - 'flap' working space 82.5cm x 33+cm deep, height of flap from floor when open - TBC asap!

Middle Glazed section inner height when glass door lifted 23cm, 25.5cm deep

Bottom Glazed section inner height when glass door lifted 27cm, 25.5cm deep

Clearance from floor to base 9cm
