Victorian Over Mantle Mirror w/ Bevelled Glass & Mahogany Frame, Carved Pediment

A stunning and large over mantle mirror with carved feature and three shelves, with a solid mahogany surround.

The bevelled glass mirror is gently foxed, and mounted on its original wooden back - and attached to the wall with mirror plates. 

On the back of the mirror is the original makers badge; Jones & Higgins Ltd, House Furnishers, Peckham - also (more casually) labelled is that the mirror was made around 1898, and was restored in 1986.

The mirror surround has a few knocks and bumps as to be expected with a piece this old, and the mirror has a couple of small scratches in addition to the foxing. Please take a look at the photos and don't hesitate to ask if you need more info.

The mirror has been gently cleaned, oiled and waxed to bring back the richness of the wood.

 - width at base 113cm

 - depth including shelves approx 12cm
