Stunning Danish Cherry Wood Hallway Cabinet by Aksel Kjersgaard
A fabulous hallway (or wherever you fancy) cabinet comprising three drawers and lower cupboard by Danish designer Aksel Kjersgaard.
The cabinet is in excellent condition with a few light surface scratches in places as to be expected. On the top of the unit some of the original varnish has come away - only more visible in some lights. Please see the photos for more details.
Founded in Odder, Denmark in 1952 master cabinetmaker Aksel Kjersgaard opened a furniture factory producing chests of drawers, mirrors and office furniture. Architects Ebbe Gehl and Soren Nissen joined the business in 1973, followed in 1989 by Jorgen Kjersgaard, a second generation master cabinetmaker who has been the owner since 1992.
It was around this time that a Shaker line in cherry wood was launched, with became the starting point for the Naver Collection - as the brand is known as now. We believe that this cabinet was made in the 1990s; the stamp on the base of the cabinet shows that the cabinet was made in the original Aksel Kjersgaard Odder original factory.
The cabinet measures
- height 106cm
- width at the top, 73cm, main cabinet width 63cm, width at base 65cm
- depth at the top 38.5cm, main cabinet depth 35cm
- cupboard inner height 71cm, inner width 60cm, inner depth 31cm
The cabinet can be collected from N8 - North London, be delivered for free within 3 miles of N8, Greater London £30, delivered within London's Congestion Zone for £45, or sent via National courier for £85.
