Antique Globe Wernicke Two-Tier Modular Barristers Stackable Bookcase

This is a fabulous example of a Globe Wernicke Barristers stacking bookcase.
The bookcase is in excellent condition for its age and is solid and true.

This type of stacking bookcase is made of individual sections - with each typically having a glass front that lifts up and slides back. Designed to keep books and papers dust free - the separate compartments were for safe transport of files between courtrooms and offices; now the perfect place for books, glasses and treasures.

The glass doors on this piece are fixed within and slide out up and over with the mechanism in great working order. The wood has been gently cleaned and waxed - there are a few knocks and bumps within it adding to its character as a working piece of furniture, as well as a bigger mark on the left hand side as you look at the piece - please take a look at the photos and do ask if you have any questions.
