Pretty Items For Your Home

We've recently listed some things that had a common theme of prettiness so it seemed like a very good idea to share... Yes, yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... but some items are universal (ish) in their appeal.
.
A while back I picked up various Formica chairs in varying states of wear and tiredness... these are the last of the chairs that all needed some more love and attention than the others.
More work than they should have been? Probably.
Worth it? Definitely.
(There's a grey one too... click here for a quick look)

This is one of a pair of super pretty Victorian uplighters... they would add some real glow to any wall. Or room.

This Japanese Shibayama Wooden wear piece is stunning... and, has a beautiful back story.
It was bought by a client of ours, late aunt Meryl, some fifty plus years ago, a gloriously eccentric seamstress to the gentry; she'd gone to an auction to buy some Wellington boots, the seller was having a clear out, and so he threw in this piece as well. This has lasted the test of time. Don't think the wellies have.

Pretty? Well, yes, but OK... they are very attractive for sure.
This pair crocodile-embossed bentwood chairs have all of the signs, except the actual label, to say that they are original Thonets - they are of the same style and are stamped Made in Poland. The colour of the wood is so rich and and the texture of the carved seats is wonderful.

A lamp with a modern or a vintage twist... a Tiffany style lamp shade with a cleaner more modern stand... perfect to pretty up your desk or side table; it casts beautiful shadows too.
